Jessica Mulican - Customer Service/Reception

Engrave-A-Crete prides itself on having a real, in-house person answering the phone, and without a doubt the company has one of the best.  Receptionist Jessica Mulican, better known as Jess, always greets callers and guests with an upbeat attitude and a cheerful smile.  She especially enjoys talking with customers.

“It's exciting to talk to customers and hear that they're doing well, how excited they are about the job they're doing, and the kind of projects they've done.  It's just exciting to learn what's going on,” Jess says. “Sometimes they invite me to visit their websites to look at pictures of their work and that's interesting.”

Along with her receptionist duties, Jess is also responsible for taking orders, invoicing, mailing, preparing seminar materials, and whatever else needs to be done to help the company function in an efficient manner.  She enjoys working at Engrave-A-Crete, especially with CFO Faron Adamson and accountant Whitney Ferguson with whom she has worked since she was 15 years old.  Jess is proud of her Associates degree in Accounting but has no plans to return to college, preferring instead to work at Engrave-A-Crete.

“I work because I have to have money to survive,” Jess says, “but I'm loyal to Faron, Whitney and the company.  I'm comfortable here.  It's good when Darrel comes by and tells me I've done a good job or something positive.”

A self-professed people pleaser, Jess describes herself as a quiet person, but one who loves to make people laugh.  Her dad is a very important person in her life and she says he's always been there when she needed him.  She also has a special pet.

“I have an English Bulldog, Baxter, who is my kid right now,” Jess says with a smile.  “He is honestly treated like a person when he goes to my dad's house.”

When not at Engrave-A-Crete, Jess likes to be outdoors, especially around water.  Fishing is her latest hobby, and it brings out her competitive side.

“I love the excitement of wondering how big a fish I'll get, how many, and if I'll be able to out-fish the other person,” Jess says.  “I don't bait my hook, but I am slowly working on taking the fish off the hook.  I fish for anything I can get.  I'm not picky and I have no idea about the different kinds of fish.”

And when she's not catching fish or soaking up sun at the lake?

“I love to shop!”  Jess exclaims.  “What girl doesn't!”
